I am best known as a jazz bassist who has had a career in VT and New England since the early 1980s. I have added on photography, something I've always wanted to do, in the last several years.
My pictures are mostly of Nature and natural things. This is due, likely, to the fact that the "House Bible" in my family of origin was Silent Spring by Rachel Carson. My mother was an avid naturalist, conservationist, and birder. She knew the names of all the wildflowers and could identify all the Warblers by ear. She instilled in me a great love of and respect for Nature. Taking pictures of our natural surroundings gives me copious amounts of joy.
My love of music and photography compliment one another. It feels natural to go back and forth between the two. As an artist I can lose myself in the world of music and my photography as well. How fortunate I am!
