Hannah Sessions, a native Vermonter, first identified herself as an artist at age eleven when drawing brought her great pleasure and satisfaction. Since then she has graduated with a major in art and political science from Bates College, has been part of several shows, a member of one gallery, and has continued to paint. The last ten years of her life (2000-2010) have been largely consumed with starting a farm and a family. As she gets back into painting more intensely she notices that being involved in agriculture has brought her artistic awareness to a whole new level; the barn with the bended roof line is a beautiful sight as well as a practical liability. The farm field is both an intense, life-affirming green as well as a sign of a good crop year! The animals that she paints are not only lovely specimen and interesting compositions, but her friends and her livelihood!
